About the Program
Students will gain the technical and communication skills needed to succeed in a professional barbershop environment. Coursework includes tool and equipment use, anatomy and physiology, skin and scalp care, and New York State Board procedures. Through hands-on training, students will master barbering techniques such as beard and mustache design, clipper and shear cutting, hair coloring and lightening, along with business basics, client relations, shop management, and safety. To qualify for the New York State Certification exam, students must complete 500 hours of instruction.
