P-TECH RACE
At Erie 1 BOCES, P-TECH RACE is on track for success!
P-TECH stands for Pathways in Technology Early College High School. It is a unique six-year program that gives high school students the experiences, practical skills, qualifications, and certifications they need to secure rewarding careers in technology-based industries.
About the Program
The Erie 1 BOCES P-TECH is a partnership between the student’s high school (also called ‘Component Schools’), Erie 1 BOCES, SUNY Erie and many local businesses and industries.
P-TECH students are incoming 9th graders who, in parallel, are eligible to earn a Regent’s High School Diploma from their high school and an associate degree from SUNY Erie at no cost to them or their family.
In grades 9-10, students explore many career opportunities in the automotive industry through coursework, activities and field trips.
In grades 11-12, students will choose a pathway to study and begin earning college credits toward an associate degree from SUNY Erie. At the same time, the student will be completing requirements for a NYS Regents Diploma.
In grades 13-14, students will complete all coursework for the SUNY Erie associate degree program they chose. The college diploma and high school diploma will be granted at the end of this phase.
Application deadline is March 6, 2026.
