Plant Science (New Visions)

About the Program
Our Plant Science program is a one-year, senior level program that incorporates contemporary knowledge, skills and practices found in the horticulture, floral and landscaping industries. Students will learn greenhouse management, plant and soil science, and landscape design. Topics of study include: the foundations of horticulture, plant cells and tissues, roots and soils, greenhouse management, watering and hydroponics, and natice and invasive species. Students will engage in propagation techniques, integrated pest management (IPM), plant identification, and complete a variety of seasonal projects while on the grounds of the Buffalo and Erie County Botanical Gardens.
