About the Program
Connections - Health Related Careers (New Visions) gives honors-level seniors the opportunity to observe all aspects of the medical field in action. Students spend the year at either Buffalo General Medical Center or Oishei Children's Hospital, working with medical professionals in the areas of their interest. Students will learn anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, pathophysiology and disease as it affects individual health, as well as observe normal anatomy and physiology and disease process and treatment through clinical observation. Health care internships will provide opportunity for students to observe diverse medical professionals while participating in a clinical setting and apply theory to what is observed in the internship facility.
